Speaking from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday, prime minister Holness says Jamaicans must heed the advice and precautions of official sources as they make preparations for the impact of the weather.
With the potential for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds, the prime minister emphasised the importance of taking precautionary measures seriously and appealed to residents to stay informed and remain vigilant.
The prime minister noted that the government is closely monitoring the situation.
He says every effort will be made to ensure a coordinated and effective response to potential challenges posed by the weather system.
And Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Desmond McKenzie, is urging citizens to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and to adhere to warnings issued by the relevant authorities.
