Prime Minister Andrew Holness has weighed in on the matter of the Nzinga King haircut controversy.

King, a Rastafarian woman, has alleged that a policewoman at the Four Paths police station in Clarendon cut her locs while she was being held in custody.

Prime Minister Holness says such actions have no place in modern Jamaica.

Nzinga’s classmates have contradicted her story, alleging she told them she had cut her own hair to get rid of fungus.

The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, and the Office of the Public Defender have taken an interest in the matter.

The Prime Minister says he has also asked for a thorough investigation into the alleged incident.
