Prime Minister Holness is vowing that the Government of Jamaica will take action against any public school which sends home students because they cannot afford to pay their school fees.

The Prime Minister has also directed Education Minister, Senator Ruel Reid, to reiterate to school administrators that the policy of the Government forbids such an act.

Mr. Holness says his administration understands the plight facing many Jamaican families.

He argued that the current tuition fee policy has facilitated schools being given more money at an earlier date. He says this is an improvement compared to what happened five years ago.

The Prime Minister is also urging parents who’re able to contribute to school development to give what they can.
