The Opposition, People’s National Party, is accusing the Holness administration of fiscal irresponsibility in the roll out of what it says is a $600-million bushing exercise.
The Spokesman on Finance, Dr. Peter Phillips says the expenditure is five times the amount spent on a similar project last year.
He’s insisting the government must explain the level of the expenditure in light of its commitment to fiscal prudence under the new IMF agreement.

Dr. Phillips questioned whether the government followed the rules in approving the contracts.
The PNP says it has asked the Contractor General to investigate the matter.

And, the Opposition is also lamenting what it says is an unprecedented level of political victimization in the roll out of the bushing project.
