Conflict is brewing in the People’s National Party Youth Organisation, PNPYO, after its General Secretary, Dexroy Martin, declared that PNP presidential aspirant, Mark Golding, is being supported by a majority of the party’s youth arm delegates.

PNPYO Kingston Parish Chairman, Kedron Allen, says Mr. Martin should retract what he’s describing as an erroneous statement that was made public via Mark Goldings’ Twitter page on Friday.

Mr. Allen, who’s supporting Presidential Aspirant, Lisa Hanna, says stating false statistics will not change the result on November 7.

PNPYO General Secretary, Dexroy Martin, declared his support for Mark Golding on Friday, after explaining in a video that the PNP needs a strong leader who can revive the party.

He said 14 of the 21 delegates associated with the party’s youth arm are supporting Mark Golding for PNP President.

However, the PNPYO’s Kingston Parish Chair, Kedron Allen, who’s supporting presidential aspirant Lisa Hanna, is challenging the numbers stated by the PNPYO’s General Secretary.

Mr. Allen told Nationwide News that in an e-mail to the PNPYO, Mr. Martin said he would make a personal declaration about his support for Mark Golding.

He says Mr. Martin’s inclusion of the PNPYO delegates in his declaration came as shock to the organization.

According to Mr. Allen, since the PNPYO General Secretary publicly endorsed Mr. Golding, members of the organization have been questioning who are the delegates Mr. Martin is making reference to.

But, Mr Allen says the PNPYO General Secretary might be in for a surprise.

The PNPYO Kingston Parish Chairman also says Mr Martin’s figures are questionable because they do not line up with the results of his team’s canvassing.
