Two men were arrested by the police on Sunday morning, following an attempted robbery in Braes River, St. Elizabeth.
Reports from the JCF’s Corporate Communications Unit, CCU, are that about 3:45am, the complainant, who operates a bar in Braes River, was told that his establishment was being broken into.
He went to the premises to check but was met with gunfire.
The alleged shooters fled in a Toyota Voxy motor vehicle.
CCU says the police were alerted and shortly after intercepted a Toyota Corolla motorcar operating as a ‘pilot’ motor vehicle in close proximity to where the shooting occurred.
The driver was taken into custody.
According to CCU, a team of officers soon intercepted the Toyota Voxy car in Elim in the parish.
The lawmen say they were greeted with gunfire and that a brief shootout ensued.
Two of the men reportedly made their escape while a third man was held by the police.
