The Police High Command says based on the early findings of its probe into the killing of Constable Lynden Barrett, there’s nothing to support allegations by some Denham Town residents, that he was killed by his Police colleagues or that the Police was involved in his killing.
In its statement issued in the last half hour, the High Command says the evidence points to the Policeman being attacked and murdered by gunmen.
Some residents have strongly claimed that Constable Barrett was mistakenly killed by his own colleagues.
But this has been rejected as propaganda, by Commissioner, Dr. Carl Williams.
Meanwhile, the Police are also renewing the appeal for persons with information to come forward and give statements to the Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, so that the probe into Constable Barrett’s killing can be expedited.
The High Command says it will not be distracted and will relentlessly pursue the investigation.
