The Police are hunting nine men who allegedly abducted and gang raped a 19-year-old woman in Westmoreland three weeks ago.

The brutal act was perpetrated on October 19 in the community of Town Head in Westmoreland.

The police say about 7 o’clock that evening, the young woman was walking on a road in the community, when nine men abducted her.

They took her to a house where 8 of them took turns raping her.

Divisional Commander for Westmoreland, Senior Superintendent Egbert Parkins, says one of the alleged rapists is the young woman’s boyfriend.

SSP Parkins says investigators have collected a statement from the young woman, as well as forensic evidence.

The alleged rapists are between 17 and 25 years old. They’re now on the run.

The woman has been placed in protective custody after the ordeal.
