The Police have identified the body of man whose severed head and body were discovered in his community in Linstead, St. Catherine early Friday morning.
He’s 65-year-old Valmore Bennett otherwise called Pulk.
The Area Five Police say the man’s head was found in the community of Victoria. They later found his body meters away beside a garbage bin close to his home. They say based on the state of the body, it may have been at the location for about two days.
The incident comes as the St Catherine North Police are grappling with a series of murders since the State of Public Emergency came to an end.
The Police Division has already recorded at least five murders since the start of the year. The State of Public Emergency in the division expired on January one.
The Police say they’re maintaining a strong presence across the Division in a bid to tackle gang-related and other criminal activities.
