There’s shock and outrage this afternoon at the vicious murder of six members of one family in Green Island, Hanover last night.

Two teenagers and three women are among those who were gunned down and their house set ablaze.

National Security Minister Peter Bunting and Police Commissioner, Dr. Carl Williams visited the crime scene this morning.

Dead are 62-year-old Linnette Bloomfield, her 40 year old son and 36-year-old daughter, Mark and Kerry-Ann Bloomfield, and her nephew, Byron Mangaroo.

Kerry-Ann’s two children, 15-year-old Davian and 18-year-old Alia Mahabee, were also killed in the attack.

Reports are that at approximately 11 last night, four gunmen in a Toyota Corolla motorcar entered Green Island and kicked open the door of their five-bedroom house.

The men opened fire and set the house ablaze. Only four members of the family escaped.

National Security Minister Peter Bunting is expressing outrage at the murders.

Minister Bunting says the Police believe they know who the culprits are.

Reports are that a bitter dispute over land may have led to today’s act of brutality.

However, Bunting says the lottery scam may also be a factor.

Minister Bunting says it was important for him and Commissioner Williams to visit the scene to reassure the family and the community.
