The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is investigating an apparent break down in administration which resulted in insufficient security presence at the funeral of a reputed criminal in St. James last weekend.

The funeral was for the reputed leader of the Western Jamaica-based Waltham Gang, Oshane Duhaney otherwise known as Ganda.

It ended prematurely when four persons were shot, one fatally, by gunmen, even as a state of emergency was underway in the parish.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ealan Powell, says persons will be held accountable for what he calls ‘gaps’ in monitoring the funeral.

ACP Powell admits that enough police presence was not provided for the event.

In the meantime, he says the police are pursuing several gangs including the infamous Sparta gang based in Flanker. He says the members of the criminal gang are ruthless.
