The St. Catherine Police are investigating the suspected drowning of a teenage boy in the Rio Cobre on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as 16-year-old D’andra Garvey of Delido Drive, Ensom City, in the parish.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 11 a.m.

D’Andra’s body was removed from the river about two hours later, at 1 p.m.

The police believe that the teenager went for a swim in the river, got into difficulties, and drowned.
