Police sources have confirmed that 20 firearms were found at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James today.

The guns were found in the cargo section of the airport.

Forty magazines were also found.

Head of the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit, CCU, Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay confirmed the seizure with our news centre moments ago.

She says the 20 firearms seized are handguns.

SSP Lindsay says two people are being questioned by police in relation to the seizure.

The police are said to be pursuing several leads regarding the identity of the importers.
