The Police in St. James are this afternoon searching for a female sex worker following the robbery and shooting of an American doctor in Granville last night.
It’s understood that the man, who’s a gynecologist, engaged the services of the sex worker before he was shot.
Our news center further understands that the doctor was robbed and shot when he was taking the young woman back to her home in Granville.
It’s understood the doctor had just stopped the vehicle and as soon as the woman got out, two gunmen pounced on him.
They ordered him to get out of the vehicle. He refused and sped off. The men then opened fired at his vehicle, hitting him three times.
The doctor continued driving, but lost control of the car and crashed into a parked vehicle. He’s now in hospital in stable condition under police guard.
Police sources have informed our newscenter that the gynecologist is known to frequently engage the services of sex workers.
He’s been living in Jamaica for a number of years. The police say they’ve obtained the names of the robbers.
They are appealing to residents of Granville to help them with any information leading to the sex worker.
