The Narcotics Division of the police force has confirmed that the cocaine seized at a port in Kingston yesterday has an estimated street value of 80 million US dollars.
That’s over 12 billion Jamaican dollars.
Over one thousand five hundred kilograms of the illicit drug was seized during during a multi-agency operation at a port in Kingston yesterday
Reports are that about 3:00 a.m., a search was conducted and the illicit drug was found concealed on a cargo vessel that arrived from South America.
Detectives from the JCF Narcotics Division, as well as personnel from the Jamaica Defence Force and the Jamaica Customs Agency made the discovery.
The Jamaica Defence Force has also revealed that their Maritime Air and Cyber Command (MACC) and the Support Brigade’s Military Working Dog Company collaborated on the cocaine seizure at the Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
