The head of the St. James Police, Senior Superintendent Steve McGregor, has confirmed that the police want to question controversial dancehall artiste, Tommy Lee Sparta, in relation to the recent killing of another entertainer.

SSP McGregor says the police want to question Tommy Lee Sparta in the presence of his attorney, regarding the killing of Derrick Edwards, who was popularly known as ‘Corey’.

Edwards, who was 32 at the time of his death, was one half of the dancehall group, Merital Family, which shot to prominence in 2010 with the hit, ‘My Money Ha Ha’, in collaboration with Vybz Kartel.

Edwards was shot and killed in Montego Bay, St. James in May.

SSP McGregor was clear in pointing out that Tommy Lee, who’s given name is Leroy Russell, is not wanted.

But he says the deejay has been linked to the Flanker based, ‘Sparta’ gang.

He says there has been a running feud between ‘Sparta’ and another gang in the area.
