Political Ombudsman, Donna Parchment Brown, says there’s uncertainty over whether her office is empowered to act on allegations made in the course of an internal party election.

Mrs. Parchment Brown told Nationwide News this afternoon that her office has not made a decision as to whether to pursue an investigation into allegations made by the Bunting and Phillips camps.

She says preliminary steps are being taken to arrive at a decision.

However, she says the political code of conduct and Jamaica’s current political climate stand against vote buying and political intimidation.
