Prime Minister Declares State of Emergency in Several Parishes

Several States of Emergency have been declared by the Prime Minister to include in Clarendon, St. Catherine and sections of Kingston and St. Andrew.

States of Emergency have also been declared in Hanover, St. James and Westmoreland.

The Prime Minister made the announcement a short while ago at Jamaica House.

The enhanced security measures will initially run for a period of 14 days.

The States of Emergency have been declared due to an increase in violence in these parishes.
