President of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, PSOJ, William Mahfood says members of the business community are concerned about the increase in murders.

The Periodic, Serious and Violent Crime Review of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, shows that between January 1 and September 6 this year, 8-hundred-and-26 murders were committed across the island.

That’s a 20-percent increase over the number recorded in the corresponding period last year.

Mr. Mahfood says the surge in murders requires urgent attention.
