Associate Professor at the School of Public Health at the University of Technology, U-TECH, Dr. Alverston Bailey, says he can find no fault in the Prime Minister’s argument in favour of lifting the UK travel ban.

He says based on the latest information the UK seems to have achieved herd immunity among the adult population.

Dr. Bailey was speaking on Nationwide News This Morning, with Danielle Archer and Tauna Thomas.

He also says it seems the UK variant of COVID-19 is now endemic in Jamaica making the purpose of the travel ban redundant.

Dr. Bailey however, questions the usage of the 14 day quarantine for persons coming from the UK.

He says the measure seems impractical in terms of enforcement.
