Member of Parliament for West Portland, Daryl Vaz, says he’s not surprised by the findings of a recent Bluedot poll which found that 64% of Jamaicans do not want a Prime Minister with dual citizenship.

The poll was conducted after Opposition Leader, Mark Golding, insisted he’d only relinquish his UK citizenship if the Jamaican people said he should.

MP Vaz reminded labourites at a constituency conference in East Rural St. Andrew on Sunday that he relinquished his US citizenship without hesitation following a court ruling in 2008.

He questioned Golding’s reluctance to choose Jamaica.
