Rainforest Seafoods Limited is to invest some USD$10-million in an expansion project at their Montego Bay plant, and will soon launch new plant in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The announcement was made by CEO Brian Jardim during the official tour of the Kingston plant with Prime Minister Andrew Holness earlier this week.

Jardim says over 100 new jobs will be created when the construction of the Montego Bay plant is completed.

The two-acre facility, which will be in close proximity to the Sangster International Airport, is expected to facilitate an increase in the exports of fresh and live seafood by Rainforest.

Jardim says the additional production and warehousing capacity will allow for the processing of a wide-range of local products including lobster, crab, conch and finfish while expanding the countries that the company currently does business with.
