Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting and wounding Megan Thee Stallion.
Tory Lanez was convicted of three felonies in December 2022: assault with a semi-automatic firearm, having a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
Reports from court are Lanez spoke for several minutes after the sentence was handed down.
Lanez reportedly said Megan Thee Stallion is ‘someone I still care for dearly to this day. I said some very immature things that I shouldn’t have said. I revealed some secretes I shouldn’t have revealed.”
After a drawn out sentencing hearing Lanez has now received the 10 year prison sentence from the judge. Prosecutors had asked for 13 years, while Lanez’s defence was seeking probation.
