Shadow Energy minister, Karl Samuda, is this afternoon silent almost 24 hours after an agreement was reportedly brokered for him to retract his stunning challenge to the position outlined by Opposition Leader, Andrew Holness.

In June this year, Mr. Holness said he will not support the Government’s Electricity Sector Enterprise team, ESET, because it’s an example of poor governance.

But Mr. Samuda stirred controversy and intense debate within the JLP as he challenged that position while speaking on Nationwide radio on Tuesday.

It’s understood that Mr. Samuda was called to a meeting with Mr. Holness at Gordon House on Wednesday afternoon where it was agreed that he’d retract his position via a statement to the media.

But, there has been no word from the Opposition Spokesman.

Contacted this afternoon, Mr. Samuda said he has nothing to say to Nationwide on the matter.

Also, more than 48-hours since his stunning contradiction of his party leader there’s no word from the parliamentary opposition regarding Mr. Samuda’s fate.

The parliamentary opposition is also silent this afternoon on what it’s true position is regarding the enterprise team.
