Nationwide News understands that Businessman and the reputed leader of the Rose Town-based discipline gang, Uriel James, otherwise known as Rooksie, is dead.
His lifeless body was found last night.
James was found slumped over in a Nissan A.D. Wagon vehicle which was parked on Ennever Close in the vicinity of Dunrobin Avenue in the Corporate Area.
Police sources and the Corporate Communication Unit of the Constabulary, CCU have confirmed that James’ body had multiple gunshot wounds.
The Police say James was one of the Corporate Area’s most resourceful and feared gangsters.
Earlier this year, he survived a gun attack on him which took place shortly after he left the popular Spartan Gym in St. Andrew.
He was not seriously hurt during that shooting.
In 2013, then Police Commissioner Owen Ellington called a media conference and complained that James was a major violence producer in the Corporate Area who had been granted bail multiple times.
Mr. Ellington also expressed concern that some members of the Constabulary are too closely connected with James. He noted that at least 7 people who were witnesses in cases against James had been murdered.
James had been before the court in connection with several of the murders. He had denied the allegations.
When the Police raided his house in 2013, a paper with the names of 4 witnesses written on it was found locked away in his freezer.
Mr. Ellington also ordered an anti-corruption probe after a copy of a receipt which is usually issued to people who make complaints at a Police Station was found at James’s Upper St. Andrew complex.
