Since the start of the year, robberies are up by almost 7-per cent and break-ins are also on the rise, up by 3-point-1 per cent.

This compared to the similar period of 2021.

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson says the COVID-19 lock downs last year reduced the opportunities for robbers to strike.

But he says since the restrictions have been lifted and people are now back to normal, robberies are trending up to what it was pre-pandemic.
