Financial Secretary, Devon Rowe, says he’d consider delaying his scheduled retirement at the end of the month.

The CEO of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, PSOJ, Dennis Chung, has led calls for Mr. Rowe to remain in the job and serve as the link between the previous PNP government and the new JLP administration where the implementation of the IMF programme is concerned.

Mr. Rowe has played an integral role as the country passed all ten of the IMF reviews taken since the start of the programme.

Speaking with our news centre today, Mr. Rowe says he’d stay on if asked.

Meanwhile, Mr. Rowe says his team is currently working out the implementation of the JLP administration’s tax plan, which would see workers who earn less than $1.5-million each year, being removed from the PAYE roll.
