Jamaica’s sprint hurdler Rushelle Burton has been banned for four months by the Athletics Integrity Unit for an anti-doping rule violation.
Burton has been slapped with a four month ban.
Its understood the 25 year old Burton Burton was charged in relation to the WADA Code rule 2.2, which deals with “possession of a prohibited substance or a prohibited method.
The method is understood to have been ‘an iv infusion’ above the allowable limit in an impermissible setting.
According to reports, Burton voluntarily admitted to the offense and was given the reduced sanction of four months.
Burton will however become eligible for competition as at the first of June as the sanction run from February 1 to May 31
Burton won silver for Jamaica in the 100m hurdles at the 2016 world under 20 championship in Bydgosz Poland
