The PNP’s Donna Scott Mottley and Damion Crawford are to be sworn in as Opposition Senators today at Gordon House.

Mrs. Scott Mottley is the PNP’s newly-appointed spokesperson on Justice.

While, Mr. Crawford was recently named spokesman on Youth and Culture.

They replace Mark Golding and Angela Brown Burke, who tendered their resignations from the Senate to the Governor General, Sir Patrick Allen, earlier this month.

Mrs. Brown Burke and Mr. Golding are to contest two of the three by-elections to be held later this month on October 30.

Mr. Golding is the PNP’s candidate for South St. Andrew, while Mrs. Brown Burke will run for South West St. Andrew.

Both seats are considered PNP strongholds and they’re expected to win easily.

The Jamaican Constitution states that no person shall be qualified for election as a member of the House of Representatives who is a member of the Senate.
