National Security Minister, Robert Montague, says the Police and the Army will shortly outline operational initiatives which are intended to address violent crime.
Minister Montague says the operational plan will complement the Government’s five-pillar anti-crime policy which was outlined last year.
Minister Montague says the Government is moving ahead with adding several thousand more members to the security forces.
Minister Montague was speaking to the media today shortly after the ceremonial opening of parliament. He says the State of Public Emergency in St. James is going well and the security forces outside of the parish remain on high alert.
