A 29-year-old security guard from St. James is in police custody after he was arrested at his workplace and an illegal firearm found in his possession.
The man was also reportedly found in possession of military uniform.
Reports are the police went to the security guard’s workplace and conducted a search of his knapsack.
A .380 handgun was reportedly found.
The police say the illegal firearm contained three live .380 rounds.
After the security guard was taken into custody, a search of his place of residence was carried out and a uniform similar to those used by the Jamaica Defence Force, JDF, was found.
The police say investigations into the security guard continue.
