Senate President, King’s Counsel Tom Tavares-Finson is lauding Prime Minister Andrew Holness for his leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The coronavirus rocked the global economy and threatened the livelihood of thousands around the world.

Senator Tavares-Finson says it has to be noted that the prime minister was able to safely navigate Jamaica through the first pandemic to hit the world in a century.

He says the island’s economy is already showing signs of recovery.

The senate president made the comment during a video address to the recent Jamaica Labour Party annual conference where he also lauded JLP delegates for always presenting what he described as the right leader for the right time.

Senator Tavares Finson also praised the delegates of the JLP for allowing Sir, Alexander Bustamante, Bruce Golding, Hugh Shearer and Donald Sangster to lead the party and eventually become prime ministers of Jamaica.

He also reserved words of commendation for former Prime Minister Edward Seaga’s contribution to Jamaica.
