A Senior Officer of Tax Administration of Jamaica has been hit with ten corruption related charges.
The officer — Fernando Davis, who’s 51 — was charged by MOCA yesterday with Conspiracy, Uttering Forged Documents and Breach of the Corruption Prevention Act.
Davis was among three men arrested last Friday during simultaneous operations in Kingston and St. Thomas.
This, as part of a probe into irregularities in the granting of driver’s licenses and other documents.
MOCA says in several of the cases examined, the correct procedures were not followed and the licenses were approved under questionable circumstances.
Davis was reportedly charged following an interview in the presence of his lawyer.
He’s due in court tomorrow.
One of the men detained on Friday has been released.
MOCA says the other man was found with dozens of rounds of ammunition and was charged with breaches of the Firearms Act.
He’s due in court on Thursday.
