CEO of Seprod, Richard Pandohie wants the government of Jamaica to take action to ensure that the rules of CARICOM are enforced so that Jamaica can have fair access to all the markets in the Caribbean region.

His comments follow concerns raised by both members of the private and public sector regarding the access to markets within CARICOM, specifically Trinidad and Tobago.

It also follows government’s creation of a CARICOM Review Commission to analyze the economic prospects of being a member of the regional group.

Speaking at the company’s Annual General Meeting yesterday, the CEO said for Seprod, CARICOM is considered an extension of the domestic market.

He says as such, Seprod and by extension, Jamaica’s access to countries within that market should not be blocked by unfair barriers.
