Former Deputy Police Commissioner, Mark Shields, is offering to help poor and vulnerable people recover funds owed to them by attorneys.

His company, Shields Crime and Security Consultants, is offering the service for free.

Mr. Shields says his company has received numerous complaints about the problem.

Mr. Shields says while most attorneys in Jamaica are honest, some are unscrupulous.

Just last month, disgraced former attorney, Harold Brady, was disbarred by the General Legal Counsel for professional misconduct.

Brady is accused of failing to turn over $100-million to the Factories Corporation of Jamaica from a land sale he’d conducted on its behalf.

Mr. Shields says in many cases, those who are targeted are poor and vulnerable.
