Nationwide News understands that six Haitians and one Jamaican man remain in detention on Monday following a coordinated operation led by the police in Falmouth, Trelawny on the weekend.
Reports are about 9:35AM, members of the Trelawny Divisional Operational Support Team conducted an operation along Rock Main Road when they observed a white Toyota Fielder travelling in a westerly direction.
The vehicle attracted the attention of the police after a man was seen being transported in the trunk.
The vehicle was signalled to stop and the driver complied.
During subsequent checks, six of the occupants were identified as Haitians.
Haitian national identification cards were reportedly found during a search of the vehicle. However, no passports were found.
But the police also reportedly observed that five of the Haitians had wet clothing and luggage at the time they were intercepted.
