Managing Director of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, JSE, Dr Marlene Street Forrest, has admitted that the multi million US dollar fraud scandal at the Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) is negatively impacting confidence in the market.

She was speaking with Nationwide during an interview at the JSE’s eighteenth Regional Investments and Capital Markets Conference Tuesday evening.

Dr. Street Forest says assurances from some key sector players have helped to restore some confidence in the sector.

She ads that new technology to give investors more control of their accounts at depositories will be introduced shortly.
