The parishes of St. Andrew, St. Catherine, and Westmoreland account for the highest number of road fatalities since the start of the year.

That’s according to the latest report from the National Road Safety Unit’s Daily Crash Report.

As of Thursday, 291 lives were lost in 271 fatal collisions since January 1, 2023.

Of the fatalities, 24 were recorded in St. Andrew, while 29 were recorded in St. Catherine.

Westmoreland tops the list, recording 41 fatalities.

Only one road fatality has been recorded in St. Thomas so far this year.

The Island Traffic Authority continues to call for increased caution when traversing the roadways.
