Another pastor has been charged with sexually assaulting a minor in St. Elizabeth.

The Religious leader is 58-year-old Lehman Webster.

Webster is a Baptist Minister. He has been charged with rape and assault occasioning bodily harm.

The Baptist Minister was arrested last week by the Santa Cruz Police in the parish.

Head of the St. Elizabeth Police, Deputy Superintendent Catherine Lord says the pastor, who is an electrician allegedly assaulted the minor at her grandmother’s house.

The pastor allegedly held the young girl by the throat. A tussle ensued and she managed to free herself.

Webster then reportedly kicked the child in her abdomen causing severe pain. He then reportedly held a rag over her nose and mouth and took her into a room where he had forcible sexual intercourse with her.

DSP Lord says the Pastor is reportedly a relative of the child’s Godmother.

The Baptist pastor is being held at the Santa Cruz police station. He’s to appear in the Santa Cruz court this Friday.

DSP Lord says the pastor was arrested after an investigation was carried out following a report made to the police. She says the alleged offence happened in October last year.
