Residents of St. James are expressing fear this afternoon claiming public passenger buses are being targeted by criminals.
One concerned resident who spoke with our News Centre today says buses have been forced to avoid Retreat in the parish, for fear of the passengers being robbed and gunned down.
Armed men opened fire on a bus carrying students on the busy Creek Street in the parish on Tuesday morning.
In that incident the bus driver was killed and two students injured.
The resident says the situation is unbearable as many persons have no other means of travelling outside of the town.
When contacted, Head of the St. James Police, Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, said he has received the reports and has given instructions for it to be addressed.
