National Security Minister, Robert Montague, has told the House of Representatives that the State of Public Emergency declared by the Government in St. James is going well.

Minister Montague this afternoon updated the House on the gains made during the State of Public Emergency which has been in effect for six days.

The Security Minister made an appeal for the public to assist the security forces in finding guns and wanted men in St. James.

Montague noted that the pushback against criminals is not limited to St. James. He says steps have been taken to ensure that criminals, who abandoned the parish because of fear of the State of Emergency, are caught.

The Security Minister says he’s pleased that there have been no complaints about the conduct of the Security Forces in St. James who are carrying out operations under the State of Public Emergency.
