The gunman suspected of killing ten people in a ballroom dance studio near Los Angeles has been found dead.

The California police have identified the gunman suspected of the mass shooting as 72-year-old Huu Can Tran.

LA County Sheriff Robert Luna said he was found dead in a white van from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police do not yet know the motive for the mass shooting Saturday night at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park, about seven miles east of central Los Angeles.

Attendees were celebrating the Lunar New Year in Monterey Park, known for its large Asian population.

It’s one of the deadliest in California’s history.

The shooter wounded another ten people, with seven still in hospital – some in critical condition.

Local law enforcement says authorities have not identified all the ten people who died.

The two named victims are 65-year-old My Nhan and 63-year-old Lilan Li.

Tran’s ex-wife told CNN he was a regular at the Star Dance Studio he attacked on Saturday.
