National age group swimmer, Christanya Shirley, recorded her first sub-27 seconds clocking in the 15-17 girls 30-metres freestyle at the Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica High School and Tertiary Swimming Championships at the Stadium pool on the weekend.
The Immaculate Conception high standout recorded the fastest time ever done at the meet with a swim of 26.87 seconds. She returned later to win the final in 26.98 seconds.
Shirley says her performance puts her in the conversation for a podium finish at the CARIFTA Championships in Curacao, next month.
