Bangladesh scored 109 for 6 from their 20 overs to fall four runs short of their target in their clash with South Africa in their ICC T20 World Cup group D encounter in New York.

Towhid Hridoy top scored for Bangladesh with 37 runs. He was supported by Mohammad Mahmudullah, 20, and captain Najmul Houssain Shanto.

Kavesh Maharaj took three wickets while, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada both took two wickets for the Springboks with the others.

Earlier, South Africa were restricted to 113 for 6 in their 20 overs. Heinrich Klaasen led the way with 46, David Miller made 29 and Quinton de Kock 18.

Tanzim Hasan Saqib was impressive he bagged 3 for 18 while Taskin Ahmed grabbed 2 for 19.
