A 14-year-old boy is to be charged today for the killing of a nine-year-old girl in Norwood, St. James last Friday.
Head of the St. James police, Senior Superintendent, Marlon Nesbeth, made the disclosure during an interview with our news centre this morning.
Reports are that, shortly after 5:30 on Friday, Kala Bailey was at home with her older brother and the 14-year-old boy when a gun was pulled and she was shot.
SSP Nesbeth says investigators are still searching for the weapon.
He’s also correcting earlier reports that the weapon is a licensed firearm.
He says Kala was shot with an illegal gun.
