Police in the Kingston West Division have increased their presence in the area following a flare up of violent activity.

Commanding Officer of Area 4 Senior Superintendent Terrence Bent, says rival gangs from Denham Town and Tivoli Gardens in the division have been feuding over the unequal sharing of proceeds from an extortion racket.

Tension in the communities is said to be high. SSP Bent says the feud has left one man dead.

Yesterday detectives from the Kingston Western Division listed five men as persons of interest.

SSP Bent says he believes that Devon Saunders otherwise called ‘Cutty’ of 7 Nelson Street, Denham Town;

– Steve Allen otherwise called ‘Frenchie’ of Charles Street

– Andrew Coke otherwise called ‘Livity’

– Taja Freeman otherwise called ‘Weng’ of Bread Lane, Denham Town

– and Shamar Guthrie, of Chestnut Lane, Denham Town could assist with their investigations.

The men were given until 5pm yesterday turn themselves into the Police.
