JLP Caretaker for East Central St. Catherine, Alando Terrelonge, says more work needs to be done in the Portmore Municipality to combat the spread of the Zika Virus.
This after a four year old Portmore resident was confirmed as the country’s fist case of Zika.
Mr. Terrelonge says several drains remain unclean and act as ideal breeding grounds for the disease carrying Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

Health Minister, Horace Dalley yesterday promised to channel additional resources to Portmore to assist with the Zika preparedness efforts.
Mr. Terrelonge says the mosquito nuisance is severe in some parts of Portmore.
