Chairman of the Labour Market Reform Commission, Dr. Marshall Hall, is calling for the establishment of an unemployment insurance facility.

Speaking today at a forum on Labour Market Reform at the Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston, Dr. Hall says such a facility will help those members of the workforce who suddenly find themselves unemployed.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of the Heart Trust/NTA, Dr. Wayne Wesley, says the government must strategically align student loan funding to areas that are crucial to its growth agenda.

It was revealed at the forum that most of the jobs in the labour market are informal, as a majority of the work-force is unskilled.
