The Government has announced plans to increase toll rates on the North-South Highway for the Mount Rosser Toll Plaza by as much as 80-percent.
This, as the Transport Ministry says the Concessionaires of the highway have applied for an increase.
The Ministry says it intends to amend the current toll rates but it will take concerns from the public before approving the requested increases.
Members of the public are being asked to visit the website of the Ministry of Transport Works and Housing at mtwh.gov.jm to review the new proposed rates.

If the Ministry approves the newly requested increases:
Class 1 vehicles will pay a new rate of $360-dollars.
Class 2 vehicles will be required to pay $715 moving from $420
Class 3 vehicles will pay $1,075
and Class 4 vehicles will be required to pay $180-dollars.
Toll rates for the highway were increased last year.
