Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, says the Ministry is seeking to hand over the Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival to private sector entrepreneurs within the next two years.

He’s urging the private sector to invest in the event to truly reap the economic benefits.

The Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival is the Caribbean’s only coffee festival.

Bartlett was speaking during the launch of the event’s 6th annual staging.

Minister Bartlett called on coffee growing and product manufacturing entities to capitalize on the opportunity given to them.

He says the team in the Ministry and its public bodies have carefully examined the festival’s potential for growth and earnings.
